Last month, the NSW Forestry Corporation announced the badly-burnt sugar pine trees could not be saved, and the organisation had no choice but to remove them.
The decision was met with an outpouring of grief from the Riverina community, with many sharing their own photos they had taken at the Snowy Valleys tourist attraction.
The community will now have an opportunity to see those photos of the Sugar Pine Walk compiled in a book, with the Forestry Corporation launching a photography competition this month.
Members of the public are invited to submit their own photos of the walk before it was damaged by fire and share their memories of the attraction.
The top 50 pictures will be showcased in a book and e-book, with the winning photographer receiving a $500 cash prize.
Entries will be accepted until July 24, with more information available on the Forestry Corporation website.
