Perry was part of the NRL's return to play, working as a biosecurity liaison officer with the Canberra Raiders.
The role was to ensure the club was following COVID-19 protocols and he also did interchange duties at games due to the limit on people allowed to attend.
He finished up over the weekend, just as Group Nine committed to getting a season under way.
Perry believes a firm date will be a big boost.
"I think it will get the players a bit keener knowing that it is happening now," Perry said.
"There was a lot of speculation about it. People thought it would happen but other people were saying no it won't.
"Having that in place now is good."
The Tigers had been training in small groups, both in Gundagai and Wagga, but changes to restrictions means they will be able to work as a whole unit heading forward.
Perry expects to see more numbers.
"I think they were only getting groups of six or seven," he said
"We had a Wagga group and two timeslots in Gundi for people to do a bit of running around.
"I will be good to have a group of 20 as we haven't really introduced a footy yet. We've just been doing a bit of running so it will be good to catch up with everyone."
