NQR chief executive Ewan Jones said he was looking to undercut the other Wagga supermarkets, saying there was a gap in the market for a "deep discount" grocer.
"We're very, very keen to get there. I think Wagga has no discount operations in it that I can see," Mr Jones said.
"You can't call Aldi a discount operation ... we're a true discount operation in the true sense of the word."
The supermarket is still in the planning stages, with Mr Jones still working out the final details of when and where the shop will open its doors.
However, Mr Jones said at this stage they were looking to open up the branch somewhere close to the CBD, and they were gunning for a 2020 opening.

Wagga Business Chamber relationship manager Casey Wilson welcomed the prospect of a new supermarket in town, saying it would bring jobs for struggling locals.
"Businesses opening up in Wagga assist with the continued development of our local economy," she said.
"The opening of the new grocery store will provide further employment opportunities for locals, especially in a time where many may have lost their job or had reduced hours because of coronavirus."
The new supermarket will hire between 15 to 20 people at a time, with a projected floor space of around 500 to 700 square metres.
NQR is also setting up an outlet in Albury, with a grand opening due to take place in mid-July.
