A meeting will be held on Saturday to discuss the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
Temora have already pulled out of any 2020 season, with Cootamundra expected to join them, but chairman Peter McDermott wants to get a better feeling on how to move forward.
"We have nothing more to share with them but are hoping the Premier will come out with something this week to help give us some more direction," McDermott said.
"We haven't got a lot to share but it is more about seeing where they sit and giving them a chance to chat together and see what everyone's thoughts are."
Group Nine had sent out a proposed draw featuring all 10 teams but that will change with the loss of the Dragons.
Since returning to play has been discussed the message has been that clubs would have final say.
McDermott doesn't expect to have a full commitment by then, with NSW Rugby League yet to hand down approval to train, although return to play protocols have been released to clubs.
"We don't know where we stand but I still think we could play one round with one less (team)," he said.
"We haven't got into the nitty-gritties yet as we are a bit worried about Cootamundra, that is pretty general knowledge. I think we need to have the meeting on Saturday to see where all the clubs are up to."
