Turvey Park Fire and Rescue were first called to a car fire on Holbrook Road, which firefighter Rob Healy said was an "usual location".
The four-wheeled drive vehicle was found in flames at the intersection of Geslton Park and Holbrook roads shortly after midnight.
With the help of the Rural Fire Services, Mr Healy said crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
Firefighters were then alerted to bins set alight on Coolibah Street and Zielger Avenue in Kooringal at 6am this morning.
Mr Healy said the bins located outside several homes were deliberately set on fire. However, he said thankfully only the bins were away from properties.
Only the bins were destroyed by the fire.
