As the mobile testing van hits the road, the MLHD has expanded the criteria for people needing to be tested.
Anyone with respiratory symptoms, however mild, or unexplained fever should be tested, according to an MLHD spokesperson.
In particular, this applies to anyone who lives or works in a high-risk setting, including healthcare facilities, aged care and other residential facilities, schools, and other closed settings; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and anyone admitted to hospital.
Mobile testing is being carried out in Batlow on Monday morning and Tumbarumba on Monday afternoon.
It will be in Jerilderie on Tuesday, Holbrook on Wednesday morning and Mangoplah on Wednesday afternoon.
About 150 COVID-19 tests were taken by the staff in the mobile clinic in its first four days of operation on visits to Lockhart, Henty, Narrandera and Coolamon.
Anyone with any respiratory symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, dry cough or sore or scratchy throat to call the COVID hotline to book in for a test. The hotline - 1800 831 099 - is open every day between 7am and 9pm.
