Sutherland will take a strong team of 12 horses to the six-race TAB card at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Sunday.
Sutherland rates Miss Elsie May as the pick of his team when she looks to break through in the JRC Electrical Services F&M Maiden Handicap (1200m).
The three-year-old filly has run second at four of her six starts, including her last-start effort behind Alise on Wagga Gold Cup day. She has 59.5 kilograms but is drawn well for jockey Shaun Guymer.
"Miss Elsie May should be hard to beat," Sutherland said.
"She's been good all the way through and she has definitely improved from the run the other day. She was a little bit underdone, particularly on the heavy track, and has improved a lot.
"She's jumping out of her skin."
Sutherland will have three out of the eight runners in the Iron Jack Benchmark 66 Handicap (1800m), a heat of the Wagga Stayers Series.
Gentleman Max, Willy White Socks and Jungle Book will represent the team.
Sutherland hopes Gentleman Max can bounce back from a disappointing 11th in the Wagga Gold Cup, on what was a suitable heavy track.
"It was quite weird, he had the tyres spinning and didn't feel comfortable in it. Whether it was the rain, or the fact the track got a bit sticky, I'm not sure," he said.
"He gets in pretty well on Sunday after Danielle's claim as well so I expect him to run better.
"Jungle Book should run a good race. The small field means he should settle a bit closer and he's down in weight."
Gentleman Max gets in with 58kg after Scott's claim, while Ellen Hennessy's claim helps Willy White Socks get in with 57kg. Jungle Book has 56kg with Guymer in the saddle.
Sutherland will also have two, Let's Get Animal and Riverbend Chief, line up in the Riverina Crane Services C,G&E Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m).
He has a slight leaning to Riverbend Chief, with Guymer in the saddle from barrier one.
"Riverbend Chief can't handle the heavy so back on a better track, from the draw he should get a handy run and take beating," Sutherland said.
"Let's Get Animal gets in well after Danielle's claim. He struggles with big weights so he gets some weight off him and should run well.
"On his day, I think Riverbend Chief would beat him."
Sutherland also expects strong performances from Empires Collide and Blazing Zone in the Ferndale Distributors Class One & Maiden Plate (2000m).
Demanding Mo has recovered from a slight stone bruise and will get back in the Advanced Commuications Class Three Handicap (1200m) and look to get home strong.
Sutherland was also disappointed to see the C,G&E Maiden Handicap (1200m) scrapped by Racing NSW.
"It's frustrating because we're losing so many meetings," he said.
