Westside Plower has won his last three races, and four of his last five, but comes into the M Williams Painting & Decor Stakes (400m) off a seven-week break.
"We've just got over this coronavirus but he is back to his normal self but if he gets out with them he will be very hard to beat," McKinnon said.
"All our kennels have been in lockdown, me and my brother Rick train together, but they are back to 100 per cent.
"It's his first run since he's been sick but he will still be hard to beat."
Westside Plower's last two wins have been over the shorter trip at Temora, but after winning over the same distance at Wagga in December McKinnon isn't worried.
"He doesn't handle Temora real well over the long distance, hence why he goes over the short, but he is going good," he said.
Westside Plower has only missed a top two finish once in his last seven starts.
He won on debut at Angle Park in South Australia before returning to the Riverina for a break.
It took him another eight starts to get back to winning ways and has only lost once since.
"He is a different dog now," McKinnon said.
"The Dyna Double One breed takes a little longer we found one.
"We've done a lot of box work with him and he's improved out of sight."
Westwide Plower is rated the best of the five McKinnon greyhounds across the 10-race card.
Two line up in the Tolland Hotel 0-3 Wins Stakes (525m) however McKinnon rated Matthew Wallace's Dit Dat as one to watch out for.
"In a couple more starts and you will be seeing the best of him," he said.
Also looking to extend her winning streak on Sunday is Tranquil Gypsy.
She has won her last five starts to set up an exciting clash with Tanami Express in the Simaroo Lodge Stakes (400m).
She has been transferred to Kevin Oakman for the run after a move from his son Rod's kennel.
The first of 10 races is at 5.47pm.
