Ten-year-old Hannah Te Pohe began recording herself reading a children's book and uploading it to the Gobbagombalin Facebook group at the weekend.
"Heaps of kids are staying at home now with the coronavirus rules so we thought it would be a nice idea to keep them entertained," she said.
"We thought of the idea as a family."
With four books and subsequent videos under her belt already, next in line is looking to be the classic favourite, Room on the Broom.
"I have a whole shelf full of books so there's heaps to choose from," Miss Te Pohe said.
The reading venture has proven to be a means of entertainment for Miss Te Pohe, too.
"It's helped keep me busy, and I have been using the computer a lot too seeing as I'm stuck at home so much now," she said.
