The Bluearth Foundation's local branch has three coaches on the job to help the city stay physically and mentally healthy through movement.
Physical project officer Sarah Argus said they have had to turn to online resources to reach their target audience.
"Normally, we travel around to schools and coach students and teachers about movement and mindfulness, which now is more important than ever to maintain but also harder to do so," she said.
"We've had to switch up how we operate as many others are having to do, so now we post regularly online with videos to show kids and parents what activities they can do at home to stay moving."
In other news:
Mrs Argus said the activities were not limited to children, with both young and old people able to participate.
"If you do have access to an outside area, even a small yard, get out at least once a day, even just for ten minutes," she said.
"Or, if you only have your living room, think about moving furniture around and get moving in that space."
Space restrictions were not a reason to stop being active, according to Mrs Argus.
"A lot of our tips don't require a lot of space, so it can be adaptable for everyone," she said.
"It's really all about increasing your heart rate."
Mrs Argus said a big benefit of movement was keeping a healthy mind during times of stress currently being experienced by many.
"It is especially important to reduce mental stress for kids," she said.
"Adults may not realise their kids hold a lot of stress as well from what's going on around them.
"If families can spend just ten minutes a day outside together, it does the world of good."
