Ede took out the Heat of the Rising Star for apprentice jockeys when she guided Miss Charlie ($26) to victory in the Iron Jack Class Two Handicap (1400m).
Ede produced a brilliant rails-hugging ride as she snuck up on the defence to down Helcolore ($3.70) by a head. Laughing And Crying ($6.00) flew home to be a further head away in third.
It was Ede's fourth career victory and continued a solid comeback after she spent 14 months on the sidelines with a broken ankle.
Miss Charlie is trained at Forbes by Peter Kirby. His partner, Debbie Prest, part-owns the horse and described it as an emotional victory.
"It's wonderful. And good to see Heni win," Prest told Sky Racing.
"(Miss Charlie) loves Wagga. She loves being led from the car...she loves country life after coming from the city. They thrive on it some of these horses."
