Women's finals went ahead on Monday night and men's on Tuesday night with finals series featuring two elimination semis to decide grand finalists.
Water Polo NSW was cancelling Sydney metropolitan competitions due to the COVID-19 outbreak but regional competitions were to consult local authorities.
"We've made a call to change the whole series so we can play grand finals this weekend," Wagga Water Polo's Shaun Bennett said.
"I'm pretty confident we'll be able to play. Our governing body (on whether we can play) is really the local health body and we've consulted Murrumbidgee Local Health and local council."
Bennett said the change isn't perfect, with little notice for this Saturday's deciders, but the organisation was keen to do all it could to hold a grand final day as soon as possible rather than push on with a three-week finals series.
"I think everyone's understanding. We obviously made late changes that can't suit every individual but I think for the overall game it's better," he said, adding that they'll stay in touch with MLHD.
The top two women's A Grade teams, Avis Octopuses and Raiders Black, both won their semi-finals on Monday night.
MJM Octopuses and Sporties Dolphins will meet in the men's A Grade final after big wins in their semi finals on Tuesday night, against Raiders and Inland Power Solutions Dolphins respectively.
Saturday's grand final day is due to start with under 14s at 9am and culminate in men's A Grade at 1.45pm.
