Around 7.30pm on Sunday, crews were dispatched to the disused scout hall on Jack Avenue, following reports of a small fire behind the building.
Upon arrival, a spokesperson for Turvey Park Fire Station said, it was found that a couch had been set alight, and had potential to spread to piles of debris.
The spokesperson told The Daily Advertiser crews managed to subdue the blaze within 10 minutes, successfully keeping the fire from damaging the old hall structure.
Soon after the first fire, at 7.44pm on Sunday, firefighters received a call regarding another fire on Jack Avenue.
Firefighters arrived to find a gum tree set alight near to the hall.
It is unclear whether an accelerant was used in the lighting of either fire.
Police are now investigating the whether the fires were lit separately.
