At around 9.30pm several firetrucks from Holbrook Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW came to put out the blaze, which is believed to have started in the engine bay before consuming the rest of the truck.
The truck's grocery cargo was completely burnt, but the driver managed to escape the vehicle completely unharmed and ambulance were not called to the scene.
FRNSW Inspector Frank Finlay congratulated local volunteers for responding so quickly to the fire.
"RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW did a great job in saving the load itself," he said.
A hazmat crew also attended the scene, however they detected no hazardous material.
The road was reopened at around 3.30am this morning, however a Transport Management Centre spokesman said they were still removing some blackened wreckage from the side of the road at time of writing.
"There are damaged goods and drain off, but we will get that cleared during daylight hours," the spokesman said.
