In a truly remarkable effort, the Wagga City all-rounder took out the Brian Lawrence Medal for the sixth time in the last seven years.
No other player has won the award more than three times.
It took Nicoll six rounds to be dismissed this season, and that form showed as he led throughout the vote count at the Rules Club on Wednesday.
Nicoll finished six votes clear of St Michaels captain Beck Frostick, with Cats captain Josh Thompson a further vote back.
Frostick closed to within a point with three rounds to be counted.
However the Englishman only polled one more vote, in the Twenty20 clash against the Cats.
The 32-year-old had an unassailable lead heading into the final round of the season, which the Saints didn't play, after strong performances with both bat and ball.
Nicoll is the competition's second highest runscorer compiling 579 runs at an average of 96.5 across the three formats.
Frostick finished 39 runs clear but averaged 61.8 with the bat.
Nicoll also claimed 18 wickets at 21.4 to help the Cats through to another Wagga Cricket grand final.
By his own lofty standards, Nicoll hasn't been thrilled with his form however the umpires certainly disagreed as he finished on 23 votes.
St Michaels paceman Dave Garness, the competition's leading wicket-taker with 29 wickets at 14.2, took out the bowling award and was also named Wagga's representative player of the year.
Frostick won the all-rounder award.
South Wagga all-rounder Blake Harper, who missed most the second half of the season following a farming accident, took out the batting award after scoring 411 runs at an average of 137 from his nine matches.
He also took out the under 19 player of the year award.
Nicoll and Thompson are the only two Cats players in the team of the year.
South Wagga have the most players in the side with Harper selected alongside Joel Robinson, Alex Smeeth and Lachie Skelly.
Frostick and Garness represent St Michaels with Todd Henderson (Wagga RSL), Keenan Hanigan (Kooringal Colts) and Isaac Cooper (Lake Albert) round out the team.
