Picker will be joined by older brother Joe, who played 121 games for Canberra and South Sydney, and younger brother Ben at Young this season.
In a few coup for the Cherrypickers, the trio will be a massive boost as they look to rise back up the ladder.
It's been five seasons since the Picker brothers have played together however the chance to play combine again in Group Nine was too good to refuse.
"One of the things that got us over the line is they've got a heap of young juniors and they went good in reserve grade last year," Mick Picker said.
"Hopefully we can find the balance between the fellas who are travelling and the locals."
Picker played four games for the Raiders in 2011, before stints with Goulburn, Crookwell and Tuggeranong.
The trio are all based near Bigga and join cousin Blake Hewitt at the 'Pickers.
They feel it is a good fit.
"A lot of people have said Young seems like a strange place for us to go but it took us an hour 20 (minutes) to get to training the other day and it nearly takes me an hour 20 to get to Goulburn as where we are at Bigga is the middle of nowhere really," Mick Picker said.
"We've always liked Young as a town and with Blake going back to play when they asked us we hadn't really put football in our heads, especially with the way it has been out here - it's been that dry we haven't time to think about much other than feeding sheep - but when they asked me, Benny and Joey everyone was keen.
"It is a different to playing in the Canberra comp, where you play in Canberra every week and we can go look at a few of the little towns out there."
Young coach Nick Hall is thrilled to have the trio on board.
"They are all well-credentialed, very capable guys and understand footy whether it is a higher level or at a bush standard," Hall said.
"They play for the right reasons - as they love the game - and the love playing together."
Mick is expected to slot into the halves, Ben at hooker with Joe in the second row.
However the line up is far from settled and Hall believes there will be excellent competition for positions this season.
"I've said to them they are in the mix the same as everyone else and I'm not going to lock down positions just yet," he said.
"We're looking for Mick to play a key role in getting us around the field and our direction, Joe has played a hell of a lot of edge and middle and can handle both.
"He is a big framed guy and has a lot of experience.
"We will see where he best settles into the side."
