Last year's two grand finalists went willingly into the contest and there was little left in the tank as the game opened at top speed.
"It was definitely on, it was pretty hot out there too so everyone was cracking in early," Perryman said.
"Even late in that last quarter everyone was ripping in so it was definitely a good hit-out before round one in two weeks time."
Playing on the wing, Perryman was in the Giants' top half-a-dozen ball-getters with 24 touches and eight marks, and is itching for round one against Geelong.
He said the surges in momentum during the game are a feature of Richmond's game-style.
"It's like that, once a team gets momentum up it's hard to stop them, especially the Tigers, they play that game really well," he said.
"There's always a couple of things to work on. I think the Tiges got on top of us around the stoppages a couple of times and they hurt us going forward so that's one thing we need to improve for round one," he said.
Perryman said the weekend of footy was "an unreal couple of days" and hopes it'll be repeated next year.
"Hopefully they can make it an annual thing, that'd be nice."
Giants coach Leon Cameron is keen.
