As an adult, the Wagga graphic designer has used that experience to help her create a series of memory and keepsake books for people to remember a loved one.

The books are a combination of journal and scrapbook, created as a place to keep track of precious memories and feelings.

There are even books designed for parents who have experienced the pain of stillbirth or a miscarriage, inspired by a close family member who lost an infant to SIDS.

Parents who lost a child have helped Ms Mauger to shape the books' contents and layout.

A separate sibling edition has also been created.

"It was always a great fear of mine when I was having kids that something could go wrong during the birth process, and although my daughters were born healthy and fine, I felt like I wanted to make something for people who did not have that outcome," she said.

"The thing I have found out with my dad is there are so many things I didn't know I wanted to know because I was so young when he died."

Ms Mauger's books provide space and prompts on where special memories and keepsakes can be written and stored.

"This is a way for people to leave their story for others," she said.

Ms Mauger has created a website, https://www.harpermartin.com.au/, where people can buy the books she has created. The website name is drawn from the surnames of her parents.

The website also provides people with the opportunity to buy one of the books and then donate it to be given to a hospital for a family that has experienced a stillbirth.
