The Bulls will resume at 7-90 needing 35 more runs to secure first innings points.
With an outright victory needed to jump off the bottom of the ladder and into fourth place in the final round, captain Isaac Cooper is chasing one big push at Wagga Cricket Ground on Saturday.
"We have to chase an outright victory and have only batted 27 overs so far so it's evenly poised," Cooper said.
"We have to get the first innings points so anything can eventuate so it is important now we get these last runs."
Cooper was pleased with the bowling effort to dismiss the Bulldogs inside 50 overs before struggling to capitalise with the bat.
With Jacson Somerville (15 not out) still at the crease, he shapes as their best chance of securing first innings points after being used in a different role this match.
"He is down the order this week so hopefully he can finish the job for us," Cooper said.
"But in saying that our tail has wagged this year so I'm very confident in the boys left to bat that they can stick around with him as well."
Rhauri MacLeod is yet to get off the mark.
Lake Albert have made one change with Matt Tansey replacing Trent Charlton.
