The Kangaroos junior has linked with the Titans this season as he chases a different avenue for his NRL dream.
Jolliffe was part of Canterbury Cup club Newtown's double premiership success last season but after five years in Sydney decided to move north for a new opportunity.
The front rower thought believes it has been the right call.
"I was in Sydney for five years and I think it was time for something different," Jolliffe said.
"The Titans have given me an opportunity and I'm trying to make the most of it."
The Titans tackle grand finalists Canberra Raiders and Wests Tigers in their two pool games in Perth this weekend.
Nines is a new concept for the front rower however he's looking forward to the opportunity to impress new coach Justin Holbrook.
"It should be fun," Jolliffe said.
"I've never played nines before so it will be different."
Jolliffe will also get the chance to play against some of his idols, with most clubs taking a mix of experience and youth to the revitalised event.
"I'm really excited as there is some massive names going over there," he said.
"Hopefully I can do my best and match it with them."
Gold Coast finished last in 2019, with just four wins to their credit and after being part of the Sharks feeder system, the 23-year-old jumped at the chance to make the move north.
Linking with Queensland Cup outfit Burleigh Bears, Jolliffe is on a training trial with the Titans and is hoping a strong pre-season can deliver him an upgraded deal.
"I've been training with them for the last 12 weeks, since the start of pre-season," Jolliffe said.
"I'll sit down with them soon and see where we go from there.
"There is still spots to fill, and there are spots at every club, but coming into pre-season trials they have to account for injury and that so of thing so they have to be flexible," Jolliffe said.
"Also they are looking at playing performances and seeing where everyone is at."
