For some of us, art is an essential ingredient in life, for others it is an indulgent pleasure.
It allows self expression or a release from busy lifestyles. It can stimulate ideas, give perspective or foster learning. Most importantly, it's just a lot of fun!
Whatever your motivation, I encourage you to come into the theatre to see what tickles your fancy.
Every year, Carissa Campbell, manager of the Civic Theatre, carefully curates a selection of shows to create our subscription season.
The process involves careful consideration, planning and a lot of love.
In December, we launched the Twenty Twenty Season, and those to take up subscriptions got first access to tickets for these shows.
If your schedule is uncertain for the coming year, you have travel plans or you enjoy taking life a little more "on the fly", we understand that subscribing may not be for you.
Now we find ourselves in February. The exclusive subscriber booking period has finished and all season shows are available for single purchase.
Jekyll & Hyde in May is already sold out and we are taking names on waitlist.
Several other shows have already proven very popular, so if you are interested in seeing Monsieur Camembert at Food I Am in February, Bell Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors in July or Opera Australia's Carmen in August, please consider this a nudge to get your tickets organised as soon as possible.
The first show of the season will take place at Food I Am.
Combining stunning views, extraordinary food and the intoxicating sounds of triple ARIA-award winning Monsieur Camembert.
A Night to Remember will be one of those events that guests will talk about all year.
Don't be the the one who missed out, with only a handful of tickets left you will need to get in quick.
Your event ticket includes bus transfers, five delicious small plates from international food stations, a welcome drink, magnificent views over Wagga, fabulous music and dancing.
Monsieur Camembert have been described as an intoxicating blend of jazz, gypsy swing and Latin influences.
Tickets to A Night to Remember and other season shows are now available online at www.civictheatre.com.au or by contacting the Civic Theatre directly on 6926 9688.
If you're intrigued by the concept of subscribing, it is not too late.
All of the season information is online or get in touch with the box office and we'll pop a booklet in the mail to you.
