With the forecast top of 44 degrees on both Friday and Saturday all senior and junior matches were abandoned by officials on Wednesday.
It comes after the final round of last year was abandoned due to extreme temperatures.
Wagga cricket operations manager Paul McKelvie said the organisation had a duty of care for all involved.
"We're looking at duty of care for players, spectators, umpires and curators," McKelvie said.
"With two days of 44 predicted it is the main reason for calling it early."
With Thursday also forecast to reach above 40 the sustained period of heat was again of particular concern.
After the decision was made to abandon round 10 in the lead up to Christmas, McKelvie also thought it was important to make consistent decisions.
"I was getting messages and queries from clubs asking what was the difference between now and before," he said.
"We made the decision early to give people the chance to do what they want to do on the weekend now.
"It's not ideal but you just have to deal with it."
Unlike when the previous round of Twenty20s, where the teams split the two points up for grabs, with two-day matches scheduled for first grade over the next two Saturdays it means the round will be cut.
Instead one-day fixtures will now be scheduled for the following Saturday, with temperatures expected to be significantly milder.
Wagga City will face Lake Albert, St Michaels tackles Kooringal Colts while South Wagga and Wagga RSL clash.
With another lost round only two weekends of cricket have been played since December 14 after no cricket was played over the Australia Day long weekend.
The decision now makes it harder for Kooringal Colts and Lake Albert to force their way into finals with less points now up for grabs.
Colts are four points adrift of the fourth-placed Bulldogs, with the Bulls a further two points back, with two rounds remaining before finals.
Meanwhile Wagga cricket are holding a Mycricket scoring information centre at the new Cricket NSW headquarters on the corner of Blake and Morgan streets on Monday night.
Starting at 6pm, the session is open for all senior and junior clubs.
Confirmation for planning purposes can be made to McKelvie on 0403901612 or Kelly Meddings on 0478285761.
