A man has been stabbed multiple times after an altercation in Ashmont on Sunday night.

At about 9.40pm on January 26, police say a 20-year-old male stabbed the 22-year-old victim with a knife a number of times in the abdomen and back.
Acting Inspector Steve Magnone said the victim was sent to Wagga Base Hospital with significant injuries but is in a stable condition.
"Five persons, believed to be friends, were found to be consuming alcohol at a Cameron Street address in Ashmont where the stabbing occurred," he said.
"The offender is known to police and police are now trying to locate the man."
