The Blues fired to start the clash at Harris Park and despite a mid-innings slip recovered for a 63-run victory, their 11th win of the season.
Stand-in captain Joel Robinson led the way, top scoring with an unbeaten 61 as the premiers posted 5-211 from their 40 overs.
Wagga RSL struggled in response before being bowled out for 138.
Alex Smeeth (57) and Brayden Ambler (46) got South Wagga off to a flying start, putting on a quickfire first wicket partnership of 111.
Their momentum was halted after losing 5-28 but Robinson and Mitch Sykes (32) were able to regroup to ensure South Wagga accelerated their innings late.
"We got off to a really good start as Smeethy and Braydo went out and took a few risks," Robinson said.
"They played aggressive, which we've modeled our shorter form game on and it set it up.
"Even though we lost a group of wickets in the middle, it allowed us to post a good score in the conditions."
With ball in hand the ability to pick up wickets at regular intervals ensured a comfortable victory.
Sykes completed his good match, snaring 3-10 off seven overs.
While after missing out with the bat, Warren Clunes made up for it with the ball as he finished with 2-24.
Robinson was pleased by how they controlled things.
"Sykesy started off really well with the ball and took a couple of early wickets," he said.
"They came out and played their shots to start with and the wickets stemmed that flow a little bit.
"I thought Clunesy through the middle bowled really well and his spell through the middle really contained."
Marcus Sevior was the only Wagga RSL batsman to offer any real resistance with the opener sixth man out after being bowled by Lachie Skelly for 32.
