Maggs, who drove two winners at last year's corresponding meeting, has three fancied runners in the four heat races, aiming to qualify for finals on next Saturday's card.
Groom ($1.80) and Rollecks ($1.20) are both first up and favourites in their heats of the IGA Temora Pace (2000m).
Maggs' Salvator Mundi ($2.25) is also highly-rated in the second heat of the Ferndale Distributors Pace (2000m).
The four-year-old entire is coming off a third in the Golden Apple Super Store Final (2147m) at Leeton on New Year's Day.
A heat-winner at Leeton on Boxing Day first up, Salvator Mundi has drawn the inside of the front row at Temora.
The finals on Saturday week are worth $12,240.
Maggs also has Ideal Suspect in the Temora Shire Council Pace (1635m). Ideal Suspect scored back-to-back runaway wins at last year's Temora carnival and had two minor placings at Leeton last week after a 10-month spell.
Saturday's meeting starts at 7.01pm, with the last of eight races at 10.36pm.
