Nikki Etherington, from Gilmore near Tumut, has offered to act as a call line for those who come across a sick or injured animal.
"I originally offered my home up because I have a number of aviaries, pouches and necessary food but we are currently in a situation where we may have to evacuate at any minute now so it's all up in the air," she said.
"There's just so much going on at the moment that I haven't received any calls yet, but the offer is there for those who need."
Ms Etherington used to be involved with WIRES animal rescue and owns horses, chickens, peacocks and other birds herself.
"It looks like I will be moving my horses to another friend's paddock and taking my kids into town today but we're just waiting to hear if we have to evacuate," she said.
"I am available though over the phone to help in that moment and make decisions on what to do with the animals if people need help.
For those in need, Ms Etherington can be contacted on 0467665353.
"We need to step away from the fear mongering at this point and just try and deal with the situation as best we can," she said.
