Updated 5pm: Dunns Road (Snowy Valleys LGA)
The Dunns Road fire in the Snowy Valleys council area remains out of control and is officially listed at an "Emergency Warning" level.
The fire has burnt more than 100,000 hectares.
The latest situation update from the RFS, as of 4.38pm, is that:
- The fire is burning south of the Snowy Mountains Highway in the Ellerslie Range near Kunama and Laurel Hill.
- Conditions are easing.
- Firefighters are working to slow the spread of the fire.
The latest advice from the RFS is:
Talbingo area
- Be alert for embers and spot fires.
- Spot fires can start fires ahead of the main fire front.
Batlow and surrounding areas
- Monitor the changing conditions.
- Follow your bush fire survival plan, and know what you will do if the fire threatens.
- Follow the advice from firefighters in the area.
Kunama, Wondalga and surrounds
- The south westerly change is pushing the fire towards these areas.
- If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now towards Tumut before conditions become too dangerous.
- Activate your bush fire survival plan.
Tumbarumba Road, Tumbarumba township or Taradale Road
- Monitor the changing conditions.
- Follow your bush fire survival plan.
- Follow the advice from firefighters in the area.
- The Green Valley fire is burning south west of Tumbarumba and following the south westerly change, it will push the fire towards Tumbarumba.
Darlow near Yaven Creek Road and Ellerslie Road
- Monitor the changing conditions.
- Follow your bush fire survival plan, and know what you will do if the fire threatens.
- Follow the advice from firefighters in the area.
Areas west of Blowering Dam and Talbingo Dam
- Monitor conditions. Watch out for smoke and embers.
Updated 5pm: Green Valley, Talmalmo (Greater Hume LGA)
The Green Valley fire in the Greater Hume council area remains out of control and is officially listed at a "Watch and Act" alert level.
The fire has burnt more than 100,000 hectares.
The latest situation update from the RFS, as of 3.25pm, is that:
- A fire is burning in the Jingellic area, to the east of Albury.
- Crews are working to protect property in the Jingellic area.
- If you are on the southern side of the fire, south of the Murray River, monitor the Vic Emergency website for updates.
The latest advice from the RFS is:
Jingellic, Jingellic Road, Welaregang, Lankeys Creek and Tooma
- The fire continues to burn around these areas.
- Be alert for falling trees and branches.
- Monitor the conditions and know what you will do if the fire threatens.
- The Dunns Road fire is also burning to the north east.
Kosciuszko National Park, Khancoban, Geehi, Tom Groggin and other remote areas
- Be alert for embers and spot fires.
- Spot fires can start fires ahead of the main fire front.
- It may not be safe to leave the area. Shelter as the fire approaches.
River Road
- The fire front has passed through this area.
- There may still be areas of active fire.
- Be alert for falling trees and branches.
- Monitor the conditions and know what you will do if the fire threatens.
