Braving the increasingly smoky conditions at the Wagga Showground, a strong crowd was in attendance for the annual Christmas meeting.
Kiki's Mom was the star of the show as she backed up her impressive heat performance to take out the Labrokes Xmas Gift Maiden Final (320m).
After winning her heat by more than five lengths in the fastest time of the three heats, Oura trainer Shannon Ellis was pleased to come up with the same box seven for the final.
Her win with the black rug on Friday the 13th triggered a donation to the Farmers Appeal and Ellis was pleased to continue to winning ways.
"It looked like she missed the start but drove through and got to the front by the corner," Ellis said.
"It was a matter of catch me if you can so I'm very happy with her."
After a second on debut in Bathurst, followed by an unplaced effort, the race series was also in the mind of Ellis.
However it has taken a little bit of time.
"We had a few problems with her early," he said.
"She was going good but then she was thinking about it and stopping in her races.
"Now that she has worked it all out she's flying at the moment so I'm very happy."
Kiki's Mom ran 18.55 seconds, slightly slower than her heat performance, but it was still more than enough.
The $1.95 favourite finished almost three lengths clear of the chasing pack, led by fellow heat winner Nippy Uno ($3.30).
It was part of a good start to the meeting for Ellis who took out the previous race with littermate Maximum Refusal.
He was fourth at Goulburn on debut earlier this month but has taken a little more time.
"He's a little bit behind these dogs and has taken a little longer as he had an injury," Ellis said.
"He's a promising dog too."
Heats for New Year's Cup were also run on Sunday ahead of the final on New Year's Eve.
It is the first time the club has secured the January 31 meeting with another big night planned.
