Indeed both teams won courtesy of the mercy rule being applied with the Warriors scoring 18-6 victory over Turvey Park Red while the Saints capitalised on a big innings to down Turvey Park Blue 12-2.
Turvey Park Red was first to bat in their match, and with hits to Charli McNaughton and Anneke Piercy contributing opened up with two runs.
In response the Warriors sole run was a Montana Kearnes' giant home run past centrefield.
Despite a Jade Olsen safe hit, Turvey failed to add to its two-run tally in their second turn at bat.
A flurry of hits from Kimberley Dennis (home run), Carmel Hutchinson, Jess Grant and Jess Swaysland saw the Warriors take a 4-2 lead after two innings each.
The third innings proved the "killer" for Turvey Park, as, after being shut out in the top of the innings, the Warriors added no less than ten runs in the bottom of the dig.
Montana Kearnes, Layhnee Kearnes, Kristy Tenison, Kimberley Dennis and Jess Grant all had hits in the run-spree.
With the writing on the wall, Turvey responded positively with a return of four runs in the top of the fourth, with consecutive hits to Belinda Dennis, Kate Looney and Anneke Piercy a feature of their innings, but it was only delaying the inevitable.
Needing four runs for the mercy rule to be applied, the Warriors scored just that with further safe hits to Montana Kearnes and Jess Grant.
In the other game it was a case of one match-winning innings from the Saints that saw them easily account for Turvey Park Blue.
Neither side scored in either of their opening two innings but the Blue side struck in the top of the third.
A three-bagger from the bat of Nerida Bates saw Leila Wadley cross the plate and Bates soon followed thanks to Amanda Gooden's hit to left field.
However Saints responded as Laura Harley and Alicia Donohue both scored to draw level with the Blues.
The innings highlight from a Turvey Park viewpoint was a magnificent double-play by a diving Charli Hall at short stop to end the innings.
A short three up, three down was the story for Turvey in the top of the fourth before the Saints piled on ten match-winning runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Hits to Tessa McGlynn, Rochelle Harley, Paula Potts, Laura Harley, Alicia Donohue and Jess Wild all found the gaps to see the scoreline blow out to 12-2.
The competition will now go into recess with matches resuming on February 1.
