Bradley McCrea and the Sawal sisters, Hana, Safiah and Jamilah, represented NSW for the first time at the National All Styles (NAS) martial arts national championships last weekend.
McCrea and Hana Sawal both returned home with gold medals.
Safiah Sawal landed two silver medals, while Hana also captured a bronze, to go with her gold.
Wagga's Shinwa-kai Karate Club coach Sensei Sawal Salleh was delighted with each of their efforts on the national stage.
"I am very proud of their achievements as they have put in a lot of hours in training and fine-tuning their karate skills each time," he said.
The four Wagga athletes were among 300 competitors from NSW, ACT, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria to mix it with the best in the country.
McCrea performed his favourite kata Anan brilliantly to win gold in the 12-13 years Advanced Forms event.
Hana Sawal faced a formidable group of challengers but produced her best against some crowd favourites to win gold in the 14-15 years Advanced Forms event by 0.01 from her nearest challenger.
She also won bronze in the under 18 years Traditional Weaponry.
Safiah Sawal performed her kata excellently to win silver in the 10-11 years Advanced Forms event. She also grabbed silver in the under 13 years Traditional Weaponry.
Jamilah tried her best but was unable to finish top three.
