The Riverina rugby league community will come together for the former Wagga Kangaroos and Magpies centre who is battling ill health.
NRL clubs including Canberra Raiders, Melbourne Storm and the Sharks, who Gaffey played with in 1969, have donated goods for auction.
"The response has been very good, from business houses around the area, and interest from players in places like Tumut and Cootamundra who played against Len, as well as his teammates," spokesman Ray Chambers said.
"Someone text Cronulla to ask about a jumper and half an hour later got a text back to say a jumper signed by all of the 2019 squad was already on its way."
Sunday's event is from 2pm-6pm at the Wagga Commercial Club.
Tickets are $20, available at the door.
The event will include raffles and an auction of sporting memorabilia.
"It's a chance to support Len but it's also a get together for a bit of a reunion, it's a two-fold thing," Chambers said.
"All proceeds of course will go to Len because he's not been in the best of health for the last 12 months."
