About 1.50pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to the Newell Highway in Alleena, south of West Wyalong, following reports of a multi vehicle collision.
Officers attached to the Murrumbidgee, Hume and Riverina Police District, as well as Traffic and Highway Patrol attended and found five vehicles, including four trucks and one car, had collided during a dust storm.
One truck driver, aged 49, sustained a laceration to his head and other minor injuries and was taken to Wagga Base Hospital.
A second truck driver, aged 50, attended West Wyalong Hospital for treatment to a leg injury.
One truck was carrying cattle and another one carrying sheep. No animals were injured and arrangements were made for the animals to be transported via other trucks.
The Newell Highway was closed for over five hours.
Lanes are now open, however delays continue as emergency services remove debris and tow some of the vehicles.

Emergency services are on the scene of a reported five-vehicle crash on the Newell Highway.
The call came in just after lunch on Tuesday, with the highway now closed in both directions south of West Wyalong.
According to Live Traffic NSW, four trucks and a car are involved in the pile-up.
The website warns that a dust storm in the area is affecting visibility, so drivers should pay attention to the conditions.

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said crews got the call at 1.50pm to head to the Newell Highway, near Tallimba Road.
"We had a total of four crews sent to that job," he said.
"Reports of a driver was trapped, but still speaking with possible head injuries.
"Reports are that five vehicles are involved. It looks like a chopper might go to the scene from Canberra, but they are still confirming."
One patient has been transported to Wagga Base Hospital by road, while two patients with minor injuries transported to West Wyalong hospital.
Emergency services and Transport for NSW remain on the scene.
Diversions are in place, with southbound traffic rerouted along Goldfields Way, Mary Gilmore Way, and Burley Griffin Way to rejoin the Newell Highway.
Northbound drivers are being diverted along Burley Griffin Way, Mary Gilmore Way and Goldfields Way.
