Celebrating sexual equality, the festival is set to welcome the 'soul queen of Melbourne', Kylie Auldist.
Hailing from Hay herself where the festival is held, Auldist is the voice behind the 2016 worldwide hit This Girl, as well as the leading lady of Australian funk/soul stalwarts the Bamboos.
Hay Mardi Gras Inc chairperson Krista Schade said Auldist's profile will not only make for a terrific performance, but also attract the crowds.
"Kylie Auldist is a high-profile artist who will attract and encourage more people to participate in the Festival and to visit Hay and the region, thus boosting the regional economy and spreading the message about mental health, diversity and inclusion," she said.
The festival will be held at the end of March, 2020.
