By early morning, Riverina RFS crews had managed to subdue the fire, which burned off the Sturt Highway near Yarragundry.
No damage to property was recorded during the incident.
Meanwhile, earlier on Saturday, the RFS responded to a rural fire incident near Ganmain.
It is understood a haystack caught alight on an isolated farming property on Ashbridge Road.
The fire was quickly brought under control, with no major damage recorded to the surrounding property or dwelling.
