Craig Dodson is undertaking a worldwide first and strapping on the pads to play for 10 different cricket clubs across Australia in the one unique cricket season.
Dodson will line up for former club Lake Albert on Saturday.
It be be the second leg of unique cricketing journey for the 41-year-old writer.
Born and raised in Wagga, the 41-year-old moved away for university and is now based in Melbourne.
He saw Lake Albert as an obvious selected among the 10 clubs he will play for, spreading across each state in the country.
"I started playing cricket at the Lake Albert Cricket Club as a 10-year-old and this visit represents an opportunity to return home, catch up with old friends and say thanks for the role the club played in developing my passion for the game," Dodson said.
"Lake Albert Cricket Club has remarkably seen three Australian cricketing greats play for it over the years - Mark Taylor, Geoff Lawson and Michael Slater and is a great family cricket club.
I am looking forward to sharing the story of the Lake Albert Cricket Club with the Australian public via my project."
Lake Albert tackles Wagga City this weekend with Dodson to line up in their second grade side at Rawlings Park.
Bulls president Simon Blacka said the club felt privileged to be part of Dodson's journey.
"With a history of over 125 years, our family friendly club has offered members over the years a sense of belonging, a fun way to get exercise and the opportunity to make life-long friends," Blacka said.
"All of these things contribute to positive mental health outcomes.
"This is well illustrated by the number of current members who fondly recall the contribution of Craig and his family to the club. We are looking forward to catching up with Craig for this event."
Lake Albert isn't the only Riverina destination on Dodson's list with plans to play with Narrandera in the new year.
Dodson will be writing a weekly blog on his journey as he looks to raise funds for Gotcha4Life.
Gotcha4Life is a non-for-profit foundation that was founded by media identity, and self-confessed cricket tragic, Gus Worland in 2017.
It aims to help reduce instances of poor mental health in Australians and raises awareness of the importance of identifying a close friend in your life, someone you can speak openly and honestly to when times are tough.
