Coming off a heavy loss to undefeated South Wagga, the Saints face the second-placed Cats at McPherson Oval on Saturday.
Coach Justin Ward is looking for a better batting display against one of the competition heavyweights.
"It's going to be another challenge for us definitely," Ward said.
"We fell short of what we wanted to achieve last Saturday when South Wagga were very dominant, but we probably let ourselves down by giving away too many easy outs with the bat.
"Hopefully we can learn from that and build partnerships to try and put a good score on the board.
"It's something so that we can be confident that we can mix it with the top teams."
Ward made 37 at the top of the order but number 10 batsman Daniel Coates (15) was the only other Saint to reach double figures as they were bowled out for 106.
Ward is also eyeing the opportunity to dismiss Jon Nicoll this season.
