Travers Donald Terry, 46, appeared in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday for a bail hearing after police arrested and charged him earlier this week.
Mr Terry has not yet entered pleas to the charges.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Rowan Harris said a custodial penalty "is a very real possibility if convicted of these matters".

Defence solicitor Laura Melhuish argued for conditional bail based on her client's strong ties to the community, lack of failure to appear on his record and limited criminal history.
Mr Terry is facing three counts each of acquiring a firearm while on a prohibition order, possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing an unauthorised firearm and not keeping a firearm safely.
He also faces two counts of unlawfully obtained goods, including a road bike and a nail gun suspected of being stolen.
Other charges include possessing ammunition without holding a licence, acquiring a firearm part while on a prohibition order, possessing a prohibited drug, handling explosive without an authorising licence and possessing a barrel for a firearm without a licence.
The 46-year-old is set to reappear in court on October 9.
