As the 25-year-old prepares for the biggest game of his life he's hoping the Riverina will turn orange for the clash with Richmond at the MCG on Saturday.
With a strong contingent from the region in the Giants team, the Narrandera product has received plenty of support from back home.
"It's a very exciting time and it still doesn't feel real just yet that we will be playing in a grand final this weekend," Williams said.
"I've already received a thousand text messages from people at home and it seems like everyone from the Riverina is getting on the Giants."
Williams was a spectator when Hawthorn downed Sydney in 2014 but his only real grand final experience was when he was named best on ground in Narrandera's Riverina League title in 2012.
He'd just turned 18 then and after celebrating another birthday last week Williams is hoping to keep his grand final record intact.
"The Narrandera grand final I will always hold dear to my heart and obviously winning a premiership with your local team is a special moment," he said. "The Friday before that I turned 18 as well and my birthday was last Friday so hopefully good things happen again."
Williams was among the side's best after being moving into the midfield to take on Collingwood following Toby Greene's suspension and Lachie Whitfield's withdrawal due to appendicitis.
Both are expected to return for the grand final and Williams is happy to play whatever role is required.
"Whether I play midfield for the grand final or go back to the half-back line with Lachie Whitfield and Toby Greene coming back, as they are both quality midfielders, I'll happily give up my spot in the midfield for either of those boys," he said.
There were plenty of nervous moments last week with Williams revealing he was still shaking when interviewed by Matthew Richardson moments after the final siren.
"The feeling when that siren went was absolutely surreal," he said.
"I'm just looking forward to getting down to Melbourne and enjoying the lead into the grand final."
