In their first season in Canberra, the Wanderers dominated from start to finish in a 7-1 win over Woden Weston.
The Magpies had no answer for the Wanderers' goal scoring options with six players finding the back of the net, Young's Pat Hislop leading the way with a brace.
The Wanderers had to win their last regular season game just to squeeze into fourth spot, where five points separated first from sixth.
Their victory follows the under-20s triumph last week against ANU.
"With the under-20s and under-18s winning, the club has been very patient with the younger players and not rushing them into first grade too early," under-18s Mason said.
"If that philosophy continues, it's looking really good (for the senior side) in two or three years' time.
"After a couple of tough years of state league in Sydney I was quite confident coming into Canberra we would do well, I said at the start of the season we wanted to make the grand final.
"We're not reliant on one player to do that work for us. When they're in the right space mentally it makes us very hard to play against, anyone can score goals with the team way we play."
Mason nominated Hislop, skipper Ano Matowe, Luke Stevens and goalkeeper Mitch McCrory as the Wanderers' standouts on Sunday.
