The champion team ensured their ninth straight grand final appearance after becoming the first team to get the better of Temora this season.
The Wagga's sides only two loss have been at the hands of the Dragons, but they reversed their record with a 18-6 victory at Anzac Park on Sunday.
Coach Craig Stewart was impressed with their efforts.
"They played really well in a high intensity game and kept it up for the full 50 minutes," Stewart said.
"It is a bit of a confidence boost for them as Temora have obviously been the best team all year.
"There has only been a try in it but it was good to get out to a good and hold on."
Brothers dictated terms early, leading 18-0 at half-time after converted tries to Kate Pevere, Madison Dunn and Bridget Horsley.
Stewart said it was one of the best first halves the team has put on all year.
Temora got on the board through Molly McCrone but couldn't peg back the side on the hunt for their fourth straight title.
It is also the first time in three seasons they've gone straight through to the grand final after being beaten by Albury at the same point two years running.
They will face the winner of the preliminary final between the Dragons and Kangaroos at Harris Park on Sunday.
Kangaroos continued their strong run of finals final with a 12-10 win over Albury.
After beating Young for the first time this season in the first week of finals, the Wagga side then downed last year's grand finalists for the first time.
Captain Gabe Knight is hopeful the trend can continue at Harris Park.
"We're definitely going in with a bit more confidence this week," Knight said.
"I think we've shocked ourselves as much as we've shocked everyone else but we are looking forward to this week."
Coming off a hat-trick last week Madeline Warburton opened the scoring after three minutes only for Jaxan Blackhall to respond six minutes later.
Jada Hartwig then put Kangaroos back in front with seven minutes left in the half.
The Wagga side took a 12-6 lead into half-time but struggled to put the Thunder away.
However they just managed to hold on to be one win away from the grand final.
"We went out in the second half and just didn't play," Knight said.
"I don't know whether we thought one try up was enough but when they scored on us it made us kick back into gear.
"We just defended the rest of the half."
Temora have won both their clashes so far, but the margin was only 12 points each time.
