Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes may have stumbled upon the right recipe just in time for Farrer League finals after a switch in combinations paid dividends in Saturday's 54-48 last round win over Collingullie-Glenfield Park.

The Goannas shifted Mikaela Cole to wing attack and sent defender Sam Creasy to sharpshooter Hannah Finemore with great success to reverse a one-goal loss to the Demons earlier this season.
Despite the result Collingullie-Glenfield Park finished as minor premiers and will have this weekend off, while second-placed MCUE takes on defending premiers Wagga Tigers in the qualifying final.
MCUE coach Marie Campbell said Saturday's win removes any mental doubts the squad may have had they can beat Collingullie-Glenfield Park should they meet later in finals.
"I've always known we've had the ability to beat Gullie, but it's a bit more special to do it late in the season heading into finals," she said.
"We tried a couple of different match-ups, we had Mikaela Cole at wing attack and that helped us transition the ball and gave us more fluency in goals.
"We also had Sam Creasy match up with Hannah Finemore and she played a really strong game in conjunction with our other circle defender Shannan Russell.
"The whole team has improved so much since they last played against Gullie, a lot of turnovers (we caused) came from full court defensive pressure."
The Tigers are looking for a fourth straight premiership, but Campbell said recent matches against Collingullie and another top five side in Griffith is the ideal lead-in.
"Tigers always get up for finals. I think it will be a welcome challenge for the girls," she said.
"But coming off Griffith and Gullie, we're already in that finals mindset and we can continue on with that high intensity game."
Collingullie-Glenfield Park coach Brigetta Hart said the match was a chance to road test a few tactics before a probable finals clash with the Goannas.
"I think it's a good match to have coming into finals," she said.
"It's very likely we'll play Mango in the coming weeks again, so it was a good chance for us to have a look at what we want to put out on court, and the style we want to play.
"Unfortunately we couldn't do that for the full 60 minutes and Mango did, so full credit to them.
"We spoke during the week the result didn't matter with ladder position so it was a good opportunity to play how we wanted to play without the pressure.
"We tried a few different things we didn't do last time and may not do in finals, but it was a chance to see it.
"They (MCUE) are quite a young side and I think they've settled into their rhythm and they had that nice intensity and connection. They were very motivated to beat us after going down by one goal last time."
In other matches Coolamon warmed up for Sunday's elimination final date with Griffith by beating Leeton-Whitton 56-36, Turvey Park thrashed Narrandera 60-27 and the Tigers just held off Griffith 51-50.
