1. Fete and Fireworks
Saturday August 24 from 2pm to 7pm
There is something for everyone and every budget at the Wagga Christian College Fete. Enjoy a cultural dress fashion parade, dances and food. Ride on the giant slide and the teacups; jump on board the London Bus and be part of the sculpture competition. Then fireworks to top the evening off. Entry is free.
2. Escape the chill and explore art
The gallery will be open every Saturday from 10am to 3pm in Small Street.
Open Studio Gallery, previously Art on the Levee has relocated the exhibition to their gallery in Small Street, Wagga. Do not fear because every Saturday morning you can mingle with the artists, experience the artworks and purchase their painting.
3. Wander through the markets
Sunday August 25 from 10am to 3pm.
The River and Wren Market is all about handmade, homemade and home grown.
Whether you are looking for handmade clothing, jewellery, candles, soaps, stationery, furniture and homewares or fresh produce and flowers or homemade jams and condiments, cakes, baked goods and fresh juice - they have it all.
4. Get jogging
Saturdays from 8am to 11am starting at Apex Park, Lake Albert.
Waggga Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed five kilometre run or walk that takes place at hundreds of locations across Australia.
No matter your age or fitness level, parkrun is for everyone, so get your runners ready.
5. Go see the show
Saturday August 24 from 9am to 7pm at Ganmain Showground.
Join the Ganmain Show Society for the 111th Annual Show.
The day will include: Horse Events, Working dogs, Quickshear, Junior Judging Grain/Wool, Poultry Pavilion, Sheep Pavilion, Championship Dog Show, Sideshow Alley, Showgirl Competition, Carriage Rides, Esky Racing, Farmyard Nursery, Fireworks, Blacksmith Display, Ladies marquee.
There is something for everyone.
