The 14 recommendations were announced at meetings with a new tiered senior structure and change of junior age groups the biggest changes.
Griffith president Jeff Harris wasn't surprised by the new approach but believes reverting the juniors to under 12s, 14s and 16s will help with player retention in under 18s and seniors.
"I can't see it changing anything dramatically for the RFL in the short term," Harris said.
One feature of the model is allowing for bigger clubs to expand the number of teams they field and the Swans are already discussing having an additional under 17.5s team with Barellan for next season.
ACT and Southern NSW AFL regional manager Steven Mahar was pleased with the response at both meetings.
"It was very positive,' Mahar said.
"There is a bit to digest so I didn't expect there to be a great deal of push back on different things but there was a general understanding and acceptance of the concepts.
"There were a few questions over logistics and detail, which will come, but the general principal was well received."
Part of the new tiered approach is designed to cater for clubs who may only be able to field one team in the future.
However Coleambally president Robert Groves can't see many changes in the years ahead.
"Hopefully we can continue to do what we are doing and I think there are a few other clubs in the same boat as us," Groves said.
"I don't think it will change to much for us."
If approved the changes would be implemented across the 2021 season.
