EMERGENCY service crews will remain at the scene of a house fire in Wagga in the case of re-ignition.
Turvey Park Fire Station's acting station commander Andrew Holt said the fire on Kincaid Street took several hours to extinguish after it penetrated into the building's roof space. But, he said the fire was brought under control within an hour.
"Upon arrival crews found a small home with large volumes of smoke. There was an occupant at the time of fire, who self-evacuated.
"The crews commenced firefighting operation and subsequently extinguished the fire.
"There was a brief risk to neighbouring properties, but the crews put strategies in place to prevent spreading."
