Police arrested a man for allegedly stealing coins and pocket knife from two separate cars as investigations continue into a spate of theft from vehicles.
Inspector Peter McLay said on Saturday night, a 28-year-old man from Central Wagga was arrested and charged with stealing from two vehicles in Slocum Street in Wagga.
"We will allege he removed a small sum of coins, about six or eight dollars, from one vehicle and a pocket knife from another vehicle," he said.
Inspector McLay said it was a reminder always to lock cars and homes as a deterrent to criminals.
"Unfortunately, there are people out there who are reliant on drugs ... and that's what they do to manage; steal from other people," he said.
Inspector McLay said they are continuing to investigate other incidents of theft from cars in Central Wagga and urged anyone with information to come forward.
