By noon on Monday, the city's temperature was just five degrees as the mercury inched towards a predicted top of 14 degrees.
Saturday's top temperature was an icy 8.4 degrees, while Sunday at least made it into double digits with a slightly less bracing 10.2 degrees.
Between Thursday and Monday morning, the city recorded about 10 millimetres of rain.
While the next couple of days are going to remain chilly, particularly at night, when minimums as low as -3.0 degrees are predicted, the good news is that some warmer days are coming.
Nigel Smedley from the Bureau of Meteorology's Wagga office said the long-term average temperature for August for the city was 14.5 degrees and from Thursday, we can look forward to a few days of above-average temperatures.
The improvement in weather conditions come after a series of cold fronts finally pass away and a high begins to have an impact.
