Months off being coined the youngest featured artist to ever perform with the show, year 5 student Jazmin Castle of Turvey Park Public School will hit the stage for the second year.
"When I was little I always loved shows like High 5 and the Wiggles, I loved singing and dancing to that, Hot Potato is probably my favourite song to sing," she said.
"I love the acting part of it - You're on stage and you get to be someone else but it's got your own personality in it."
The friends made along the way are also a big part in what makes the experience enjoyable, according to Jazmin.
"There are 57 featured artists for this performance so it's super exciting and really fun, you get to meet a lot of cool people," she said.
Wagga High's year 11 student Edward Prescott has been involved with Schools Spectacular for four years now, advancing from the massed choir to the core choir, and this year being named a backing vocalist.
"I've basically been singing since I could talk, I really enjoy it," he said.
"The backing vocalists, in a lot of ways, really tie things together.
"I do a lot of classical stuff but I'm happy to try my hand at pretty much anything which is what I think they look for at Schools Spectacular."
Living in Wagga, Jazmin and Edward's dedication to rehearsals is even stronger, having to travel to Sydney frequently.
"Closer to the show you're up there for the weekend, back for school during the week, then back again on weekends, so we don't really get time off," Edward said.
The theme for the 2019 Schools Spectacular is STARS with students performing in a 'galaxy' of more than 5500 stars drawn from public schools across NSW.
Creative Director Sonja Sjolander said it is the "Youthful exuberance, amazing talent and passion for performance" that has brought Australia's longest-running variety show together.
"It's a joy to see their faces light up with pride and achievement as they perform," she said.
Ms Sjolander said that as well as the local featured performers the Schools Spectacular will again showcase 40 Featured Performers, a 100-piece symphony orchestra, stage band, 2,700-voice choir, 2,300 dancers, the D'Arts Ensemble disability program, the Aboriginal Dance Company, puppets and a behind-the-scenes team.
Also from the Riverina participating in the program is Laura Bunn of James Fallon High, Erika Gooley of Leeton High, Angelica Temponeras of Wagga High and Lachlan Stephens of Wagga high.
Four performances of the Schools Spectacular will be staged at QUDOS Bank Arena on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November, later broadcast across Australia on 7 networks.
"Everyone should definitely come and watch or tune in on TV," Edward said.
