The $5 million campaign will spruik both the men's and women's world cup tournaments, which are due to kick-off in February.
India will go head-to-head with the Australian women's squad in Sydney.
Tourism Minister Simon Birmingham said India was already Australia's fastest growing visitor market, worth about $1.7 billion each year.
"These visitors are also known to stay longer and spend more than the average international traveller," Senator Birmingham told reporters in Canberra on Monday.
About one million fans are expected to attend the T20 tournaments, which will be hosted across eight cities.
When Australia last co-hosted the Cricket World Cup in 2015, alongside New Zealand, it attracted 100,000 extra international visitors.
