The Wagga side has lost five of their last seven games to slip off the pace, but the 72-0 thrashing will be a confidence booster heading into a crucial clash with Southcity on Sunday.
Southcity are seventh, three points behind Kangaroos who are back in a finals position on percentage with Cootamundra are hot on their heels.
Captain Gabe Knight was worried how the team would adapt to playing with nine on nine, and hopes the win can be a boost for their run home.
"We want to win from here on in and we have Tumut (bye) up ourselves which is a nice two points," Knight said.
"Southcity and definitely Albury will be tough ones and we would want to play well anyway to know we are going into the finals well."
Big scorelines were a feature of the round as the top teams dominated.
Temora continued their unbeaten start with a 48-6 win over Gundagai.
They can secure the minor premiership when they take on premiers Brothers, who are coming off a 28-0 win over Cootamundra.
Young also proved too strong for Southcity to hold onto third place with a 32-4 win over Southcity.
The Cherrypickers are one point clear of Albury, who they play in the final round of the season, and have the benefit of the bye this week.
