Police are hunting a gunman seen moments before a shot was fired into a house on Eldershaw Drive, which investigators have deemed a targeted attack.
The property was shot up shortly before dawn, when a man was woken by the sound of a motorbike outside about 5.30am.
Shortly after, the man heard a loud bang and saw a large hole in the window which investigators believe was caused by a shotgun.
Police said a motorbike was heard leaving the area and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Eldershaw Drive resident Kay Jones said the attack has not phased her, but has interrupted a fairly quiet neighbourhood.
"I didn't hear anything, but the television was on," she said. "It's usually fairly quiet and it hasn't interfered with anyone else, so I'm not really bothered.
"I live in my house and that's it."
Ms Jones has been living at her Eldershaw Drive residence for about 20 years and said only one other major incident has occurred during that time.
"We did have a siege at one time and that was a few years ago, but other than that it's fairly quiet and it's just an odd one now and then," she said.
Police are continuing their investigations and said it is too early to determine what caused this event to unfold.
